Commitment to Clean

After decades of progress, climate change is still a major issue. The food industry is not without its own impacts, with the food we eat causing a significant contribution to global warming.

Yum Village’s Commitment to Clean

At Yum Village, we are proud to be able to drastically reduce the amount of waste that eventually ends up in our landfills by using natural ingredients and materials in our dinner wares.

The food industry accounts for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and the industry is only getting more environmentally-dependent. The average restaurant produces 2,200 pounds of garbage per day and accounts for 7% of the food industry's total greenhouse gas emissions. To mitigate the impacts of the restaurant industry on the environment, restaurants should consider the using sustainable kitchenware.

Preparing and gathering food is one of the most important aspects of a sustainable lifestyle and taking care of the environment. Cooking and eating with sustainable kitchenware is one of the most important aspects restaurants should focus on to help out the environment.

Made to meet the highest standards possible while still being environmentally friendly, we aim to reduce the overall carbon footprint the restaurant industry leaves on the environment. All of our containers are dishwasher Safe, microwavable, and recyclable. You will receive a discount if you reuse your food containers.

Let’s do our part to make the world a better place.

We also are committed to giving back to the city, maintaining active partnerships with World Central Kitchen and Brilliant Detroit, and 85% of the ingredients in YumVillage’s food come from the Detroit area.
